Accounting
Reports & Period Close
Because operations post their own accounting, the financial reports are views, not productions: nothing is "generated", nothing goes stale. What remains of month-end is review and closing discipline — see Period Close.
The reports
- Trial Balance — every account's balance, live. The first stop for "does anything look wrong", and with the sub-ledgers on, short enough to actually read.
- Profit & Loss — revenue through food cost through expenses, per branch or consolidated, for any period. The restaurant-shaped view: gross margin sits right where food cost meets sales.
- Balance Sheet — what you own and owe at a moment: banks, stock, receivables, custody balances, PDC parking heads, payables, tax liability.
- Cash Flow — where money came from and went, distinct from profit; the report that explains "profitable but broke".
- General Ledger / account statements — any account's full history, drill-down to the voucher and the operation behind it.
- Receivable & payable aging — who owes and is owed, by how long. The working reports of Payments & Receipts.
- Sub-ledger breakdowns — per-contact and per-staff detail under the control accounts.
All export to spreadsheets; all respect branch scope. Column preferences follow your report column settings.
Reading them as a rhythm
Daily: the day close summary is the day's P&L in miniature. Weekly: aging, both sides. Monthly: trial balance review, bank reconciliation, P&L against last month. Yearly: the close. The reports reward rhythm over heroics.
