Addons
An addon is anything sold on top of an item — extra cheese, a dip, a flavour choice on a pizza. Addons are organised in three layers, each a sub-tab of Food Addons:
Addon categories define the choosing rules:
- Validation — required (the cashier must pick one: a pizza flavour) or optional (extras).
- Type — single or multiple selection, with minimum and maximum counts for multiples.
- Printing — whether the addon, and its category heading, appear on the bill and on the kitchen slip.
Addons list holds the actual choices — each with its name, price (which can be zero for included choices), and an is default flag. Addons can carry their own selling-price matrix just like variants.
Addons assign list connects the two to the menu: which items — down to the specific variant — offer which addon category. A Large pizza can offer the large-flavour category while the Medium offers the medium one.
Quantity behaviour: by default an addon's quantity is independent of the item's. A category-level switch — multiply with addon quantity — makes addons follow the item quantity instead: two burgers with extra cheese means two extra cheese, priced accordingly. Set it per category to match how your menu actually sells.
Order notes
Order Notes are the canned texts used at speed during service, in three types:
- Item notes a cashier attaches to an order line — "half cut", "extra spicy" — which print on the kitchen slip.
- Cancel reasons picked when an order is cancelled — "customer changed mind", "customer left" — which feed the dashboard's Lost Business card.
- Discard reasons the kitchen picks when food is thrown away, each with an optional discard limit (an amount above which the discard needs a manager). These feed the Wasted / Refused Food reporting.
Keeping these lists short and honest is what makes cancellation and wastage reports worth reading later.
